Bronx, New York
The completion of the Nolen Greenhouses in 2005 marked a significant step in the second phase of the New York Botanical Garden’s efforts to become the world’s premier institution for the discovery and interpretation of plant diversity, and build a national model for public education in plant science, conservation, and gardening.” Composed of a complex of eight glasshouse zones , the greenhouses are modular, steel-framed, trussed structures that incorporate state-of-the-art, operable roof venting technology with which it is possible to create growing conditions as close to outdoors as possible in good weather.
