Brooklyn Academy of Music

The Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Fulton Street Redevelopment Project will knit together three of BAM’s locations to carve out a new space for visual and performing arts in Downtown Brooklyn. Mitchell Giurgola is designing a new structure on a vacant lot between BAM’s Harvey Theater and 230 Ashland Place, a residential building where BAM has ground floor space. The new facility will include a gallery space, a rooftop terrace, café, retail space, and new patron amenities. A new façade and a 180 ft. long marquee will visually link the three spaces and unite the entire block.
