Myron Taylor Hall was built in 1932 for the Cornell Law School (CLS). In 1988 the addition of the Jane Foster wing was completed. Myron Taylor Hall Jane Foster Wing serves as an important landmark at a major gateway for the Cornell campus.
This project is a gut renovation and conversion of 8,000 sf of library stacks into student and adjunct spaces on the ground floor. The ground floor conversion created collaborative spaces for students and faculty at the juncture between the two major Law School buildings, Myron Taylor and Hughes. The ground floor stack space has not been renovated since the Jane Foster wing was added in 1988. The project also involved the renovation of the Jane Foster entrance on the first floor including updating the existing entry vestibule finishes and strengthening the connection into the daylit Jane Foster atrium space. A new glazed entrance door and transom provides a view into the vestibule, aligning with the recently renovated building entrance to the north. Both the ground floor and first floor work create more functional and integrated spaces for the school.
