MG Partners, John Doherty AIA and Susan Stando AIA, presented the newly renovated Foster Hall at SUNY Buffalo last week as a part of the UB’s Blueprint for Tomorrow Architect Lecture Series. Their talk explored the transformation of the university’s 1921 McKim, Mead & White landmark into a contemporary academic home for the Graduate School of Education. The 75,000 SF renewal balances preservation and performance—carefully rehabilitating the historic exterior while introducing flexible learning environments, a new 120-seat assembly space, and sustainable systems designed to meet New York State’s net-zero-ready standards—ensuring this iconic campus building continues to serve future generations.
