The completion of the Center for Science, Health and Wellness represents an important milestone in the history of Norwalk Community College. Founded in 1961, NCC is the second largest of the twelve colleges comprising the Connecticut Community College System and is a recognized national model for workforce training. The new 50,000 square-foot Center for Science, Health and Wellness houses the college’s science, nursing and allied health programs. Developed in cooperation with three local area hospitals, the Center features a hospital simulation unit of its own along with state-of-the-art laboratories and a wellness center three times the size of the former campus gym.

As part of NCC’s West Campus Development Initiative, the design team developed a master plan that called for the new Center, upgrades to existing buildings adjacent to the Center, a site for future college expansion, and the creation of a new entry drive and landscaped courtyards framing the new facility. What was previously a service area has become a second front door to the College.
