Mitchell Giurgola designed a new computational theory suite for New York University’s Department of Chemistry. The new space consolidates the workspaces of several computational researchers previously spread throughout the building creating both a clear identity for the group and an environment that will foster collaboration between faculty. The program includes five faculty offices, workstations and offices for 39 graduate students and post-docs, a medium-sized conference room with video-conferencing capabilities, and a shared open social space and pantry. A new server room was designed to consolidate servers previously located throughout campus.
